Chandigarh, June 2 -- : The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police on Tuesday busted a high-tech inter-district ATM-breaking gang with the arrest of two key operatives from Amritsar following a series of coordinated raids, officials said.
The arrested accused have been identified as Jasminder Singh alias Jass and Deepak Kumar alias Deepu Bihari. Police have recovered a .32 bore pistol, live ammunition, an industrial gas cutter set, and a getaway vehicle from their possession.
According to police, the gang's operations unraveled after an attempted heist near Shivpuri Chowk in Ludhiana on the intervening night of May 19 and 20 failed due to a short-circuit that triggered a fire in the machine. While trying to escape, the suspects opened fire at a ...
