Bhubaneswar, June 27 -- A low pressure area is expected to develop over the northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast on July 2 and may gradually intensify into a depression on July 3, according to the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) of SOA Deemed to be University.
In its weather bulletin issued on Saturday, the CEC said the system could further strengthen into a deep depression by July 4, triggering moderate to heavy rainfall across Odisha between July 1 and July 5.
The bulletin forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over coastal districts of Odisha on July 2 and 3, while interior regions of the state are likely to receive heavy to very heavy showers from July 3 to July 5.
