Kochi, Sept. 9 -- Several tiles on the roof of a school building near the Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery were blown away by turbulence from a low-flying aircraft, local residents said.

The incident occurred at the Sree Narayana Higher Secondary School at Okkal, located close to the airport. The aircraft was reportedly approaching the airport for landing when it flew unusually low, according to local residents.

The incident took place at night, averting a major tragedy as there were no students or large gatherings on the school premises at the time. Several tiles on the roof of the school building were damaged in the incident.
