Bengaluru, May 1 -- A major administrative shakeup is unfolding in Karnataka after the Lokayukta initiated proceedings against senior officials, including Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh and Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao, over the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital compound wall collapse that left seven people dead.

The move has widened the scope of accountability beyond frontline civic bodies, bringing top-level bureaucratic and police officials under scrutiny for alleged lapses in planning, supervision and maintenance of public infrastructure.
