New Delhi, March 25 -- The Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed the Finance Bill 2026-27, with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman underlining that India's reform journey is now driven by strong intent and clarity rather than compulsion.
Addressing the House, Sitharaman said, "India is moving forward with reform not out of compulsion, which is what has happened earlier, but out of conviction, with clarity, confidence and commitment." She said that the country is "riding on the reform express" under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
