New Delhi, July 29 -- The Lok Sabha on Wednesday approved a motion extending the tenure of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) examining the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, allowing the panel additional time to complete its scrutiny of the proposed "One Nation, One Election" framework and submit its report during the Winter Session of Parliament.
The motion was adopted after Joint Parliamentary Committee Chairperson P P Chaudhary, along with Dharmendra Yadav, moved a proposal seeking an extension of time for the committee to complete its deliberations and present its recommendations.
