New Delhi, July 29 -- The Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 by a voice vote amid repeated disruptions, paving the way for a significantly tougher legal framework to tackle paper leaks and organised examination fraud.
The legislation was cleared after the House resumed at 3 pm following an adjournment triggered by a heated political confrontation between the Treasury and Opposition benches over remarks made by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi during the debate.
