Dhaka, March 10 -- Bangladesh head coach Phil Simmons has confirmed that veteran batter Litton Das will bat at No. 5 during the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) website, Das has not batted at No. 5 since the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019, with Simmons hoping the move to the middle order will help the 31-year-old rediscover form in the 50-over format.

The Bangladesh batter has failed to reach double figures in his last eight ODI innings, and Simmons believes the switch could benefit both the player and the team when the series begins on Wednesday.
