Patna, April 27 -- Amid ongoing political debates over prohibition and governance in Bihar, senior Janata Dal (United) leader Shrawan Kumar on Monday asserted that the state's liquor ban has evolved into a deeply emotional issue, particularly for women, and is unlikely to be rolled back.

Kumar, who leads the JD(U) legislature party, said the prohibition policy, initially a legislative decision, now reflects the sentiments of a large section of society. He highlighted that nearly five crore people had participated in a statewide human chain supporting the ban, projecting Bihar's anti-liquor stance as a social movement with national visibility.
