Srinagar, Sept. 5 -- A day after an encounter in the higher reaches of Central Kashmir's Budgam district, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday identified the terrorist killed in the operation as Yasir, a Pakistani national affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
"You can run but you can't hide! The terrorist neutralised during Op Ashdar has been identified as Yasir, a Pakistani national of Lashkar-e-Taiba," police said in a post on X.
The terrorist was killed during a joint operation launched on Thursday evening by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. The Army has codenamed the operation in Budgam as 'Operation Ashdar'.
