Bengaluru, July 13 -- Intensifying the BJP's offensive against the Karnataka government over the proposed Bidadi Township project, BJP Chief Whip in the Legislative Council N Ravi Kumar on Monday accused the Congress government of unleashing "atrocities" on protesting farmers and demanded an immediate halt to land acquisition proceedings.
Calling for a comprehensive white paper on the township project, Ravi Kumar said the government must disclose the extent of government land available, private land proposed for acquisition, and cattle grazing land that could be affected.
Condemning the alleged police and official action against farmers protesting the project, he claimed officials had "forced themselves upon" peaceful demonstrators.
