Rome, July 15 -- Lebanon and Israel have completed a new round of US-mediated negotiations in Rome, reaching agreement on the implementation of the "pilot zones" in southern Lebanon outlined in a recent framework deal, a US official said on Wednesday.
"Talks concluded after two days of productive and positive discussions," the official said, adding that participants had "agreed on the structure and guidelines for the pilot zone process, to be finalized and implemented in the coming days."The negotiations, brokered by Washington and held in the Italian capital, focused on a framework agreement reached last month following five rounds of talks in Washington.
