Sangrur/Barnala, July 8 -- Judicial work in the district courts of Sangrur and Barnala remained largely paralysed on Tuesday as members of the local Bar Associations abstained from work in protest against the implementation of the Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADC) System and the judicial action plan.
The strike disrupted proceedings in civil and criminal courts, forcing litigants and lawyers to return without hearings in a large number of cases.
Routine judicial work, including filing of fresh cases, arguments and evidence, was also affected.
