Dharamshala, Sept. 23 -- Language is not merely a means of communication but the foundation of a nation's memory, knowledge and cultural continuity, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) Prof Sat Prakash Bansal said.
Addressing the inaugural session of a two-day national seminar on "Indian Knowledge Tradition and Hindi Language" and "Hindi Language and Literature in the 21st Century: Challenges and Prospects" on Tuesday, Prof Bansal said language gives expression to human experiences, emotions and thoughts and connects the past with the present while guiding the future.
He said the traditions, culture, civilisation and collective consciousness of a nation could be understood through its language.
