Mathura, Feb. 25 -- The festivities of Braj's world-famous Holi have reached their climax.

Fulfilling the saying "Sab Jag Hori, Ja Braj Hora," a grand "Laddu Holi" celebration was held at the Shriji Ladli Lal Temple in Barsana on Tuesday. Organized as part of the 40-day Holi festival, which began on Basant Panchami, millions of devotees from India and abroad enjoyed the shower of laddus, Radha's Prasad.

The festival began with a Dwapar-era tradition. The Sakhis (women of the Goswami community) from Barsana arrived at the Nand Baba Temple in Nandgaon with Gulal (coloured powder). There, they extended a "Phaag Invitation" (invitation) to the cowherds of Nandgaon to come to Barsana and play Holi.
