Srinagar, Oct. 21 -- Ladakh administration has announced a series of major political and administrative developments, notifying 100 elected constituencies for the eight Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils (LAHDCs), dissolving the erstwhile LAHDC Kargil following district reorganisation, and the State Election Commission proposing to hold Panchayat general elections across all Panchayat Halqas from November 21.
The developments mark a significant phase in the restructuring of local governance and grassroots democratic institutions in the union Territory.
