Tirupati, Feb. 28 -- The Andhra Pradesh government has initiated steps to develop Kuppam constituency in Chittoor district as an energy self-sufficient constituency with plans to generate 250 MW of renewable power locally. Chairman and Managing Director of APSPDCL, Shivashankar Lotheti, said the initiative is being taken in line with the Chief Minister's vision to meet the entire electricity demand of Kuppam through renewable energy sources within the constituency.
Reviewing power sector development works during a video conference on Saturday, he said the current electricity demand in Kuppam stands at around 250 MW and plans have been prepared to generate the required power locally through renewable sources.
