Bengaluru, July 4 -- union Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Saturday said he would approach the Election Commission of India seeking the scrapping of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka, alleging that the exercise was marred by serious irregularities and lacked transparency.

Escalating the opposition's attack on the voter roll revision exercise, Kumaraswamy said the entire process undertaken so far should be cancelled as it was being conducted "incorrectly", and a fresh, transparent revision should be carried out under the Election Commission's supervision.
