Bengaluru, June 23 -- The political battle over the proposed Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township (GBIT), popularly known as the Bidadi AI Township, intensified on Tuesday as union Minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy rejected Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar's invitation for a closed-door discussion at Vidhana Soudha and instead challenged him to hold talks in the protest-hit Bidadi region in the presence of affected farmers.
The exchange followed Shivakumar's letter inviting Kumaraswamy and a team of five representatives to attend a meeting at his office on June 26 to discuss the township project, which the Chief Minister said had its origins during Kumaraswamy's tenure as Chief Minister.
