Hyderabad, Aug. 7 -- Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) Working President K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday wrote an open letter to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, alleging that the condition of handloom weavers has deteriorated under the Congress government and demanding the immediate restoration of welfare schemes introduced during the previous BRS regime.
Marking National Handloom Day, KTR claimed that key schemes such as Nethanna Bima and Nethannaku Cheyutha, which provided life insurance, savings support and financial security to weavers, had been discontinued after the Congress came to power.
