Hyderabad, Aug. 2 -- Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday demanded an unconditional public apology from Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's reported remarks describing engineering students as "criminal waste," alleging that the comments insulted lakhs of students, teachers and parents.

In a four-page letter addressed to Rahul Gandhi, KTR questioned whether the Chief Minister's remarks reflected the Congress party's official stand on students, engineers and the youth.

He said Rahul Gandhi, as the senior Congress leader who campaigned for the party and selected Revanth Reddy as Chief Minister.
