Bengaluru, March 5 -- Karnataka Legislative Assembly Deputy Leader of the Opposition Arvind Bellad on Thursday accused the Siddaramaiah government of diverting funds meant for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to finance its guarantee schemes, alleging that it amounted to "cheating Dalits".
Addressing the media, Bellad claimed that the Congress government had used Rs 38,859 crore from the SCP/TSP funds over the past three years for the implementation of its guarantee programmes instead of utilising the money for Dalit welfare.
He said that Rs 11,144 crore was used in 2023-24, Rs 14,282 crore in 2024-25 and Rs 13,433 crore in 2025-26 for the guarantees.
