Bengaluru, May 6 -- The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has clarified that the decision to shift the IPL playoff and final matches from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad rests solely with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), even as it expressed disappointment over the lack of formal communication on the move.
KSCA spokesperson Vinay Mruthyunjaya said the state body had no authority over the allocation of knockout fixtures, stressing that venue decisions remain entirely with the BCCI. "It is always the prerogative of the BCCI. The state association does not have any right to host playoff matches," he said.
