Bengaluru, May 23 -- The M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is set for a major modernisation and capacity expansion, with the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) is preparing an ambitious redevelopment plan to significantly upgrade the iconic venue.
According to KSCA, the proposal aims to increase the stadium's seating capacity from the current 32,000-34,000 range to around 55,000, with some earlier KSCA documents and long-term plans even exploring a future capacity of up to 70,000 as part of phased expansion.
The redevelopment blueprint includes a comprehensive overhaul of spectator stands, improved entry and exit corridors, enhanced crowd management systems, and upgraded corporate and media facilities.
