Mumbai, June 5 -- India wicket-keeper KS Bharat has taken to social media to announce his retirement from international cricket.

Bharat retires having represented India at Test level on seven occasions, with his last appearance coming against England at Visakhapatnam in February 2024.

The 32-year-old retires with a total of 221 runs for India and 19 dismissals as keeper, with his highest score of 44 coming against Australia in Ahmedabad in 2023.

That effort saw Bharat win a spot in India's XI for the ICC World Test Championship Final against Australia at The Oval in June that same year, with the right-hander managing 23 runs in the second innings of the match and picking up five dismissals behind the stumps.
