Hyderabad, Aug. 3 -- Rajya Sabha MP and National BC Welfare Association President R Krishnaiah on Monday demanded that the Telangana government immediately release Rs 8,000 crore in pending fee reimbursement dues and continue the scheme in its original form, alleging that delays were severely affecting nearly 14 lakh students.
Speaking during a protest at the Telangana Higher Education Council, organised by the State BC Student Association, Krishnaiah alleged that students were being denied admissions, barred from campuses and deprived of their certificates due to non-payment of fee reimbursement.
He criticised the government for failing to allocate adequate funds despite repeated demands.
