Kolhapur/Raigad, May 11 -- State Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar said today that Konkan is the backbone of Maharashtra's development.
Pawar, speaking at a public meeting held after the foundation stone laying ceremony for various department works in the Ashtami Nagar Parishad area in Roha city, said Konkan "is truly a land of the gods, where the people have created it with hard work, and it is the backbone of Maharashtra's development".
The Deputy CM said that the late Ajit Pawar always took the side of Konkan and recalled that he loved the people here very much.
She said "Development is not just about cement roads, but our real effort will be to bring economic prosperity to people's lives and how they will get happiness from it".
