Navi Mumbai, Sept. 11 -- OBC leaders and members of the Agri, Koli, Karadi and Bhandari communities staged a march to Konkan Bhavan, demanding the establishment of a separate ministry to address the issues and welfare needs of these communities.
A delegation of the protesters met the Konkan Divisional Commissioner and apprised him of various problems faced by the communities.
The OBC leaders argued that a separate ministry will help ensure faster and more effective resolution of their long-pending issues.
The delegation urged the government to consider the demand seriously and take steps to create a dedicated administrative mechanism for the communities in the Konkan region.
