Kolkata, July 2 -- Commuters in the city could soon heave a sigh of relief from the agony of unavailability of buses on the roads, as the West Bengal government is planning to introduce 470 buses by Durga Puja to enhance connectivity on various routes, informed state Transport Minister Arjun Singh today.
The 470 buses being procured by the department include a fleet of Electric and CNG -run vehicles.
As elaborated by the minister during a felicitation program and special session on 'Vision for New Transportation System in West Bengal' organised by the Merchants' Chamber of Commerce and Industry, one of the priorities of the newly-formed BJP government is to fill the vacuum created by fewer buses.
