Kolkata, June 9 -- Investigators on Tuesday took arrested Trinamool Congress leader Swaroop Biswas to his club Suruchi Sangha in south Kolkata's New Alipore area as part of the ongoing investigation into multiple allegations linked to him and his elder brother, former state minister Aroop Biswas.
A large contingent of police personnel, backed by Central forces, cordoned off the club premises before Swaroop was brought there in the afternoon. The move comes amid an expanding probe into alleged irregularities and misuse of influence connected to the Biswas brothers.
