Kolkata, March 1 -- Amid escalating tensions in West Asia, family members of Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim have been stranded in Saudi Arabia while other Indian celebrities are stuck in Dubai following sudden airspace restrictions and security alerts across the region.
Hakim's wife, Ismat Hakim, daughter Priyadarshini Hakim and granddaughter had travelled to Medina during the holy month of Ramzan.
According to Priyadarshini, this was her first visit to the sacred city during Ramzan and the family had been there for the past three days when news of the conflict broke.
Speaking in a Facebook Live session, Priyadarshini described her experience in Medina as spiritually uplifting despite the unfolding crisis.
