Kolkata, Sept. 23 -- With the historic Writers' Buildings set to regain its old prominence as West Bengal's seat of power next month, the police are working on an elaborate plan to revamp the security system in the colonial-era edifice.
Top police officials said the security of the country's oldest secretariat building, established by the British in 1780 and from which all previous chief ministers of Bengal, except Mamata Banerjee, ruled the state during their entire tenures, is being thoroughly redesigned and upgraded.
