Kolkata, July 30 -- An elderly couple was found dead inside their residence in Salt Lake's AE Block on Thursday morning, police said.
An officer of the Bidhannagar Commissionerate said that they found a bottle lying inside the room that bore markings simiar to rat poison.
The cops identified the couple as Sajal Kumar Kundu, 64, and his wife, Ranjana, 61.
Police said the couple's son Siddhartha Kundu, a driver, had gone to his in-laws' house in Ultadanga with his wife on Wednesday. He last spoke to his parents at around 10 pm that night.
When repeated calls to them went unanswered on Thursday morning and both their phones were found switched off, he requested a neighbour to check on them.
