Kolkata, May 30 -- The city civic body on Saturday deployed bulldozers to pull down a stretch accommodating temporary structures - alleged to be encroachments - in the Kidderpore area of Kolkata.
The razing was carried out in ward number 79 under the Kolkata Port .
The locals alleged that the bulldozer action was carried out without giving enough time to them. The residents even protested against the demolition demanding some more time from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation for rehabilitation.
A day back, a bulldozer was pressed into service to raze an illegal structure in Beleghata, in the city's north east.
