Kolhapur, March 27 -- Over the past two days, long queues of vehicle owners were witnessed at petrol pumps across Kolhapur city and district.
To manage the rush and ensure fair distribution, the district administration has imposed restrictions on the sale of petrol and diesel.
As per the new guidelines, two-wheeler owners will be allowed to purchase petrol worth rupee 200 per day, while four-wheeler owners can avail fuel worth up to rupee 2000 per day.
The decision has already shown positive results, with a noticeable reduction in queues at petrol stations. Earlier, many vehicle owners were opting to fill their tanks completely, leading to early depletion of fuel stocks and, in some cases, temporary closure of petrol pumps.
