Kolhapur, Sept. 8 -- Sambhaji Bhide, a staunch Hindutva activist and founder of Shivaji Pratisthan, has demanded a ban on Dolby and DJ systems during religious festivals like Ganeshotsav.

Talking to reporters, Bhide, who was in Sainik Takali village in Shirol tehsil of this district to participate in a morcha to oppose proposed MIDC in the village, said: "The entire country should throw away Dolby and DJ systems" as they serve no purpose in traditional Hindu festivals.

Bhide harshly criticized certain public groups (mandals) that featured women dancing at recent "Dahi Handi" events on "Gokul Asthami".

He called the organizers of such vulgar dances "anti-national" (deshdrohi) and foolish.
