Kolhapur, April 27 -- District police today thwarted an attempt to burn the effigy of state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis by workers of different progressive organizations to express their protest against police for not registering a cognizable case against Shinde Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad.
They were demanding a police case against Sanjay Gaikwad for his controversial statement against Communist Party of India CPI senior leader late Govind Pansare for writing a book 'Shivaji Kon Hota' and its publisher Prashant Ambi.
Irate workers of different progressive organizations, gathered at the historic Bindu Chowk and tried to burn an effigy of CM Fadnavis to express their protest over not booking MLA Gaikwad in a cognizable case for his remarks...
