Kolhapur, April 18 -- District chief session judge Kavita B Agrawal today sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 5,000, a man for the brutal murder of his friend over an old feud.
The incident occured on June 24, 2022 at Kerli village in Karveer tehsil of this district.
According to public prosecutor Manjusha Patil, accused Sandeep Bapu Mane (40), resident of old-Sontali village in Karveer tehsil, had an old feud with his friend of decades Bharat Shankar Naik, resident of Kerli village.
On June 24 night accused Sandeep picked a quarrel with Bharat over the old feud between them.
Later, an irate Sandeep attacked him with a sharp weapon, killing Bharat on the spot.
