Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 27 -- Records in cricket are rather like old monuments. They acquire dust, acquire reverence and, every now and then, someone comes along and climbs over the wall.
Virat Kohli did just that on Sunday.
With one handsome pull through mid-wicket off Alzarri Joseph, Kohli became only the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to cross 15,000 ODI runs. The Greenfield International Stadium rose as one, applauding the man who has spent much of his career making milestones look almost commonplace.
Kohli raised both arms, acknowledged the applause and then got on with the business of batting.
