Dimapur, May 8 -- The Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland state branch, observed World Red Cross Day with a walkathon themed "Walk for Humanity" in Kohima on Friday.
Volunteers, officials, students, youth, and members of the public participated in the event, which commenced at the Red Cross complex and culminated at Old NST.
Kohima DC B Henok Buchem, who is also the president of IRCS Kohima branch, flagged off the walkathon.
The occasion featured warm-up sessions conducted by the Nagaland Fitness & Body Building Association.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Tseilhoutuo Rhutso highlighted the significance of humanity and compassion in today's conflict-ridden world.
