Kolkata, June 4 -- Putting efforts to end the impasse over monthly meetings of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the chairperson of the civic body, Mala Roy, on Thursday announced June 19 as the date of the KMC House.
The promulgation comes after the court upheld that the chairperson of the civic body had the authority to convene councillors' meetings, further allowing her to call the monthly House meeting on June 19, as proposed by her. The KMC chairperson had challenged the civic body secretary's "unlawful" notice deferring the monthly session by filing a petition in the court.
