Hyderabad, June 13 -- Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy has written to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, seeking a comprehensive inquiry into alleged irregularities in the state-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited.

In his letter, Kishan Reddy expressed concern over media reports alleging that around 40 lakh tonnes of coal, valued at nearly Rs 1,600 crore, had gone missing, resulting in significant financial losses to the company.

He noted that the reports come at a time when Singareni is already facing financial pressure due to outstanding dues of over Rs 51,500 crore from the Telangana government.
