Hyderabad/New Delhi, July 31 -- union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Friday strongly condemned Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for referring to engineering students as "criminal waste," calling the remark irresponsible and unbecoming of a Chief Minister who also holds the education portfolio.
In a statement, Kishan Reddy said the Chief Minister should have initiated a constructive debate on improving engineering education instead of using derogatory language against students.
He alleged that Revanth Reddy was attempting to deflect attention from the state's failure to clear nearly Rs 10,000 crore in fee reimbursement arrears, including over Rs 5,000 crore owed to engineering students.
