Hyderabad, Sept. 15 -- union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Tuesday accused the previous BRS government and the present Congress government in Telangana of avoiding an official commemoration of September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day due to "vote-bank politics" and pressure from the MIM.
He was speaking at a 'Mahila Shakti Scooty Rally' organised by the BJP Mahila Morcha from the Bhagyalakshmi Temple at Charminar to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel near the Assembly premises as part of the Telangana Liberation Day programmes.
Recalling the role of women in the Telangana liberation struggle, Kishan Reddy said women had displayed great courage in resisting the Nizam and Razakars despite facing atrocities.
