Kakinada, Aug. 2 -- Andhra Pradesh Kisan Congress Chairman Kamana Prabhakara Rao on Sunday urged the State government to accord top priority to relief and rehabilitation measures for Godavari flood victims instead of concentrating on programmes to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing a press conference here, Prabhakara Rao alleged that while thousands of people affected by the floods were awaiting assistance, the government was spending crores of rupees from the public exchequer on arrangements for the Prime Minister's visit.
He claimed that the Godavari river was in spate and that more than 20,000 people from around 100 villages had been displaced due to the floods.
