Bhubaneswar, Sept. 5 -- Doctors at KIMS, Bhubaneswar, have successfully performed a rare and highly complex 12-hour hybrid surgery on a 57-year-old man suffering from multiple life-threatening recurrent aortic aneurysms, after the condition returned despite an earlier endovascular treatment.
The patient had previously undergone successful endovascular stenting at KIMS in 2024 for an aortic aneurysm. During the procedure, doctors had placed stent grafts inside the aorta to reinforce the weakened section of the blood vessel and prevent rupture.
