Chandrapur, July 13 -- : In a major development in the inter-state kidney trafficking racket, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has seized a luxury Hyundai Creta car allegedly purchased from illegal proceeds and Rs 11.50 lakh transferred to the account of the brother of prime accused Dr Krishna alias Ramakrishna Sunchu, officials said on Monday.
According to the SIT, Dr Krishna, the alleged mastermind and key agent of the racket, exploited poor and financially vulnerable people by luring them into kidney donation deals and earned huge commissions through the illegal trade.
During the probe, investigators found that Dr Krishna had purchased a Hyundai Creta (MH-13-EK-8578) in 2024 through cash payment allegedly generated from the illegal...
