New Delhi, Aug. 18 -- Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday said opposition leaders had assured him of fighting the forthcoming elections together, asserting that the BJP government's attempts to "intimidate and suppress" the opposition would not succeed.
Speaking to reporters after meeting political leaders and representatives of various sections of society, Kharge said he had stressed the importance of presenting a united front in the electoral battles ahead.
"I spoke to all the leaders and told them that in the coming period, we have to contest elections together. The leaders have assured me that all of us will fight together and win," he said.
