New Delhi, Sept. 10 -- Congress president and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday accused the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh of allowing corruption, administrative apathy and negligence to reach an "extreme", alleging that human lives were being treated as expendable.

Reacting to the reported deaths allegedly linked to the consumption of spurious liquor in Sagar district, Kharge said 31 people had lost their lives while 11 others were still fighting for survival. He said the tragedy had shattered 31 families, with the victims including sons, fathers, and husbands.
