Pune, July 8 -- Warje-Karvenagar Ward Committee Chairperson and corporator Manjushree Sandeep Khardekar has urged Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram to strengthen the civic body's emergency response mechanism by deploying additional jetting machines, pumps and manpower to tackle widespread waterlogging caused by continuous rainfall.
In a letter to the Municipal Commissioner, Khardekar said that incessant rain over the past three days has resulted in severe waterlogging in several housing societies, residential localities and on the roads.
In some housing societies, floodwaters have reportedly risen up to waist level.
